Our youngest and newest signing Faizan Shah has won King Gong this week. King Gong is widely regarded as London’s most brutal open mic night and with good reason. On the last Monday of each month they welcome 30 budding new comics on to the stage and challenge them to remain there for 5 minutes, and then ultimately one act takes the crown.
Faizan always wins the audience over, having also won Beat the Frog just a few gigs in. We look forward to seeing how Faizan does in the Beat the Frog World Series, with his Heat on the 24th October.
Although he has only been doing comedy for a year, Faizan has recently progressed to weekend middles with Rob Riley and The Frog and Bucket thanks to the quality and speed of writing plus a comfortable stage presence.
Faizan moved to the North West from Pakistan as a child, his comedy addresses how different cultures view depression. Deadpan and a little dark but with a lot of laughs and warmth.
