Nicola Mantalios
Nicola is a Greek – Geordie Bisexual comedian and has become a much loved comedian in and around the North East, first coming on to the professional scene in 2018 she quickly became loved by her bookers and audiences. She took a couple of years staying within the North East due to family commitments, now the family can survive without her, she’s ready to get her name known in every city.
Nicola regularly MC’s The Newcastle Stand, runs her own gigs, one being the very successful ‘Queers and Beers” which is the main queer comedy night in Newcastle.
Nicola has a background in delivering training and has developed a series of comedy courses including “ The fundamentals of Stand Up comedy” “Develop your Standup comedy- MC masterclass” and “The architecture of Character Comedy”. Many up and coming comedians and known comedians alike seek mentorship from her, s3he’s very respected and her work rate is one of the strongest in the industry.
Nicola also performs as a character called Zoe, she is a socially obtuse, fleece wearing dog lover, this character took the BBC comedy Festival 2022 by storm and was the biggest act to come out of the festival. Receiving two development funds from the BBC to develop Zoe further preparing her as support from North East Screen.
In May 2024 she wrote and performed a theatre show alongside Lauren Stone at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House: Zoe (and Lauren) explain it all. Zoe has a big following in the North East.
Nicola can give you two acts with one booking.
She’s currently working with Media Borne productions and is creating an online brand for Zoe. Nicola is working closely with Blue House productions on a project about leaving religion, they are in talks with the BBC.
Nicola has performed alongside Lucy Beaumont, Fern Brady, Sarah Millican, Dylan Moran, Jonny Vegas, Gary Delaney and has provided tour support for Josie Long and Ellie Taylor.
